I saw ‘we’ a lot in this article. It either means ‘we’ the people I’m running with or ‘we’ the group of people taking instruction from the Wahoo Systm Fitness app.

Today in Wahoo Systm app, the mental toughness training was for setting event goals. The focus is on controlling intention and efforts. So we wouldn’t want to set our event goal to win the race but rather to perform in a certain percentage bracket. This is recommended due to a lack of certainty about outcomes. I have a GPS enabled bike computer with a better screen but I’ve not felt motivated to update the software.

We’re told our goals should be realistic but take us out of our comfort zone. For me, making racing about enjoying being with people is the most challenging thing. So I’m the opposite of Wahoo’s target. But this is about event goals. Not just…
